Outgoing junior city councillors excel

Brakpan High learner and outgoing junior mayor Cecile Matabaro obtained two distinctions.

The Speaker of the City of Ekurhuleni’s Council, Clr Patricia Kumalo, has congratulated all the successful outgoing junior city councillors, emphasising the importance of education in building a better country for future generations.

She extended a special mention to 12 members of the junior city council who collectively achieved 50 distinctions.

Brakpan High learner and outgoing junior mayor, Cecile Matabaro was amongst the youngsters who obtained two distinctions.

The other achievers are: Violanta Odendaal and Tyeisha Burn who achieved eight distinctions respectively; Melandré van Lill (outgoing deputy mayor) who achieved six distinctions; Sakhile Nkosi, Casey Jean Hutton and Tumelo Mashego (outgoing junior chief whip) all achieved four distinctions respectively; Celcio Moloi (outgoing chairperson of chairpersons), Sikhanyisiwe Pondwa, (outgoing junior speaker), Isha Zwane and Mxolisi Mnisi all achieved three distinctions respectively as well as Somila Joka, who achieved two distinctions.

“The City of Ekurhuleni is proud to be the breeding and grooming ground of young intellect, refining young minds so they can propel to greater heights,” said Kumalo.

She wished all successful matriculants the absolute best in their future endeavours.
